DEP add Indigo and Eco-solvent coatings for polypropylene printing
DEP Ltd, the specialist print coatings company, is increasing the selection of polypropylene print media in their range of Synplas synthetic paper. By adding thicker grades of sheeted material in the most popular formats, they will offer a wider choice of this durable and versatile printing material to customers producing Point-of-Sale and signage.
Synplas Ultra:
Three new products available For banners, pop-ups and signage the zero light transmission, Super Opaque White is available in 300 and 440 micron thickness. For the stationery, folder, packaging,
tag, and label markets, classic White Matt/Matt and Natural Frosty Clear are avail- able in 500, 800, and 1200 micron thickness. These three products give excellent ink
adhesion as well as high impact resistance and are 100 per cent recyclable.
All Synplas products are suitable for
printing with Offset Litho, UV Litho, UV Digi- tal, and Screen Printing. The Synplas range includes products ranging in thickness from 80 microns to 1200 microns.
Coated versions for Eco-Solvent and Indigo printing As an added benefit for their customers DEP offers special versions of Synplas suitable for Eco-Solvent and Indigo printing. With over half a century’s experience in
the field of printable surfaces, DEP are able to 'draw on their unique knowledge and abil- ity' in the application of specialist print coat- ings for polypropylene and polyester substrates. Inkjet, Eco-Solvent, and Indigo printable surfaces can be applied to the Syn- plas range including to the thicker Synplas Ultra products.

Wide format distributor ArtSystems recently launched the new ONYX 12 RIP Software. ONYX 12 is built on the proven plat-
form of ONYX 11 RIP software and ONYX Thrive workflow software. According to the company it delivers faster RIP performance; a simplified user interface; and advanced fin- ishing tools to do more in less time.
It 'delivers better utilisation of memory
and hardware' when running the latest Win- dows OS to maximise the system investment with a modern, proven platform. ONYX 12 uses the complete 64-bit platform through- out, in the RIP as well as modules, to harness full processing capabilities. It can 'reduce print times from almost a minute to seconds'.
The redesigned user interface displays
a visual, interactive job list to easily find jobs, view printer information, and quickly make edits. Complete job information, including thumbnails, is displayed and can be cus- tomised to suit each operation's needs. Live, colour-managed previews display
job edits as they happen: an intuitive feature that saves time and reduces waste by elimi- nating guesswork and proof reprints. Quick Sets – production templates that streamline routine tasks – have been redesigned so they're easier to build, navigate and save. Consistency can be achieved by sharing Quick Sets or easily changing between print- ers without the need to re-open files. A new Bleed function allows users to
add borders for wrapped canvas prints; pole pocket trim for banners; or top/bottom ex- tensions for pop-up stands without having to redesign the original artwork. Users can combine the Bleed function with Automatic Cut Path Generation to eliminate white space in print-and-cut jobs for finished pieces without artwork adjustments. ONYX 12 is available across the full
ONYX software product line including ONYX Thrive workflow software, ONYX Produc- tionHouse, ONYX PosterShop and ONYX RIPCenter RIP software.
