Team Chamber get on their bikes for charity

A team from Glasgow Chamber, led by Richard Muir, the Deputy Chief Executive, got on their bikes to support the STV Children’s Appeal. The trusty cyclists took part in the Pedal for Scotland Team Challenge

event on 6 September, run in partnership with MadeBrave®, the creative agency and Chamber member. The Team Challenge event saw the team cycle from Glasgow Green to

Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. Glasgow Chamber’s journey was not without its eventful moments, with

Richard Muir coming off his bike after being hit from the side by another competitor. Luckily, Richard suffered no more than some minor grazing.

Quality through Experience ESTABLISHED IN SCOTLAND SINCE 1991

www.qmi-scotland.co.uk SCOTLAND

This is a big year for both the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, with new revisions arriving in September; significant changes will serve to align the requirements of the two standards and those of the upcoming Safety Management System standard ISO 45001 to replace OHSAS 18001. By placing more emphasis on leadership, for example, ISO 9001:2015 will drive greater involvement in your organisation’s quality management system by your senior management team through the alignment of the organisation’s stated strategic goals with those for the achievement of customer requirements. Equally the changes to ISO

14001 have been driven by the need for organisations to address their environmental impact; consequently the changes will make ISO 14001

more outward-looking, more strategic and more important for businesses by aligning environmental management with an organisation’s goals, strategy and decision-making. QMI Scotland Limited has

been following the process of the standards’ development to ensure that we continue to provide clients with the auditing, consultancy and training support to make the transition to the new standards as smooth and seamless as possible. If you already have a certified quality or environmental system we can visit and discuss your requirements for the 2015 transition. We can also provide in-house or public transition courses for your staff.
