community since early 2003 wore out. And this hap- pened at a time when per- vasive drought had caused the Maasai and their ani- mals to depend very heavily on WME’s water borehole. Needless to say, this was an emergency, and the Maasai appealed to WME for help.

Thanks to WME donors and supporters who have so generously given toward WME’s “Where Needed Most” fund, WME was able to replace the equipment and see that the water from the WME borehole at Emuruadikir once again flowed freely to the Maa- sai.

Looking back to 2003 when the well was being drilled...this gift of water initiated a host of other WME programs and dramat- ically changed the lives of the Maasai.

Our leaders on the ground in Kenya relayed many words of rejoicing and thanks as the project was completed, and we wanted to share them with you. Thank you so very much for making this critical project for the Maasai of Kenya a blessed reality!

“I went down to Emuruadikir to oversee the inspection of the bore hole by the field technicians from [the water equipment suppliers]. I have just got- ten home…The community around were overjoyed by the kind gesture from WME.”
