support. A lightening of spirit, hope and love was highly apparent in those re- ceiving care. In fact, upon arriving, the children supported in this Christian envi- ronment surrounded us, grabbed our hands, and did not let go until we left. In other words, even as children, these Ugandans are very appreciative, loving people.


Although I’ve supported WME work, I have never before been involved with a WME mission trip. I came away from this experience greatly impressed with the lasting involvement to which World Missionary Evanglism is dedicated to helping countries in need.


I say this because I went on a mission trip to Mexico over 10 years ago with a church where I was a music minister. My experience on that other mission trip was very different. Then the local people were highly ungrateful for what was given them. Perhaps they were insulted at having privileged outsiders drop off food and supplies to just leave. It made me wonder if we were actually helping.


The difference I saw on this WME mission trip was HUGE. WME doesn’t just drop off supplies and leave. They are there for the long haul — involved with
