Years ago, the Lord miracu- lously opened a door of ministry and outreach to WME among the Maasai of Kenya. The Maa- sai are a herding people, mean- ing that raising cattle, goats, emus and other such animals is their primary source of survival. Traditionally, they have had to roam around so their herds can find grass for grazing. As you might imagine, water is an in- credibly precious commodity for the Maasai people, and drought has been a constant problem for them in recent years.
The needed equipment arrived just as a drought had placed a community in peril.
Recognizing the challenges the Maasai were facing, WME completed the drilling of a water borehole around the start of 2003 at a place called Emuruadikir and provided the equipment needed to supply water to an entire community of Maasai and their animals. That water project has successfully served this Maasai community since that time, provid- ing the opportunity for families to settle down. And because of the in- creased stability that resulted, WME was able to establish a school for educating Maasai children at Emuruadikir.
