tions. I was amazed at the skill level, patience and risks with which peo- ple maneuver without hitting each other. Of course, this led to my first of several prayers for protection, as Moses passed oncoming traffic. Thank you, Jesus! There were definitely angels watching over us.


Now on to the people and the ministry. Ugandans are wonderful. In watching the people along roads, villages, etc., I never saw any anger or impatience. Everyone I met or exchanged conversation with was very polite and accommodating. Even within the slum areas, where I could see a vacant sadness in their eyes from the toil of surviving, they man- aged a smile.


Katie McGinnis, WME’s National Director for Uganda, was our liaison on the ground. What a ball of tireless energy and love for these people she has! She also has a very savvy, impressive ability to get around and get things done. Katie was fun to watch.


The Ugandan ministry leaders we met had such a love for their people and country and a vision to bring it back to its once glorious state. Yet what struck me most deeply was the difference in countenance of the children being served in the or- phanages, schools and clin- ics operated under these Ugan- dan ministers in comparison to the slum children who haven’t yet re- ceived
