Enterprise in Asia in spotlight at two big meetings

A high-powered delegation from the China Enterprises Association in Britain visited Glasgow recently. The delegation, which

was investigating investment opportunities in Scotland, was invited by Scottish Development International to meet key business figures in the city.

The delegation met Richard

Muir, Deputy Chief Executive of Glasgow Chamber, along with members of the President’s Club at the House for an Art Lover. They also attended a conference hosted by the Clydesdale Bank. There were a series of discussions in the city focusing on Glasgow’s economy and its position as Scotland’s economic powerhouse. In May, Chamber members

attended an Indonesia Investment Promotion Forum focusing on investment in the Southeast Asian country. The Indonesia Investment

Co-ordinating Board (BKPM) and the Indonesian Embassy in London organised the event in collaboration with Scottish Development International. Himawan Hariyoga, Deputy

Chairman for Investment Promotion of BKPM, was the keynote speaker. The event provided an insight into recent updates on Indonesia’s investment policy and business environment. The event highlighted opportunities in Indonesia on various energy sectors, including oil and gas, power generation, geothermal, hydropower and micro hydro, solar photovoltaic, biomass, onshore wind and biofuel.
