Silicon Glen to Silicon Valley W

» SwarmOnline is ambassador for Glasgow at global epicentre of technology

hen Andrew Duncan started Swarm Online, he

wanted to infuse some Silicon Valley culture into Glasgow’s tech industry. Only three years aſter he incorporated the company, he was invited to speak at a large tech conference in the heart of Silicon Valley. Surely that means he’s doing something right. Andrew’s talk was based on

the technology SwarmOnline use to build web and mobile

apps for their customers. He was delighted that his Glasgow-based company was being noticed in the world’s capital of technology and innovation. “It’s crazy to think news

about SwarmOnline is spreading around the globe and it all started in Glasgow. We plan to have a presence in the Valley in the future, but Glasgow will always be our HQ.” While networking across

Silicon Valley, Andrew got the

feeling he was representing Glasgow along with SwarmOnline. “Everyone in the Valley wanted to know what Glasgow was doing in terms of innovation and technology. People are aware of our history and they expect big things from us in the future.” Andrew might have set

out to bring some Silicon Valley culture to Glasgow, but it looks like he’s ended up taking some Silicon Glen to the Valley.
