Welcome to the Stage Diary, a column that since it was first launched in 2007, has become a major central point of reference to amdram on the Costa Blanca. Not only does it act as a guide to what’s on in all the regions, but is also an important on-line introduction to potential expat’s researching community life in Spain. It also acts as a planning guide to assist groups avoid unnecessary clashes of production dates.


Calpe Gilbert and Sullivan Society: The society is now in the early stages of rehearsal for next year’s concert production of Ruddigore. They will be taking a break for the summer from the end of


June, but will start rehearsals again on Wednesday 2nd September. Contact musical director Aileen on 696 514 613 for more information.


Campoverde Theatre Group: The Group is now well into rehearsals for their next production, Let Us Entertain You, a variety show to be staged at the Casa de Cultura, San Miguel de Salinas on 19th, 20th and 21st June. The group meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Community Centre, Blue Lagoon at 2pm and welcome new members, especially men, singers and soloists and back stage crew. Cantabile Ladies Choir: 340 Euros was donated to La Siesta Church Management after their well-received performance of Faure’s Requiem. If you are interested in joining a group of sociable, friendly ladies, you will be given a warm welcome. Rehearsals take place every Friday from 2:45 to 4:45pm at La Siesta Church. Careline Theatre: Last month’s play, An Inspector Calls, was well received by Alcalali audiences. Careline’s next production is the famous Musical play, Bugsy Malone. This production is being directed by Lee Walker and choreographed

concert in Teulada last month. The season finishes with a performance ‘Glyndebourne in Gata’ on the 28th June, a season where the choir has gone from strength to strength, plus the launch of its first CD ‘As Long as I have Music’ and its sponsorship deal with Telitec Communications. Footlights Theatre Group: This Calpe based Company is rehearsing its November 2015 show, the multi award winning Broadway musical Annie. Footlights are very keen to recruit additional performers to join their ranks. The principal line up is almost complete, although they still need an older actor to play President Roosevelt.
