“Hear, hear!” is an exclamation that functions as a kind of verbal applause. It is a way of showing that you approve of what the speaker is saying, mostly in a formal context with many people present, such as a wedding toast, a political meeting, or especially in the British Parliament. But what if you yourself can’t “Hear, hear” properly in the noisy situation of being in a wedding crowd, or in a room at home with the television on and your family speaking at the same time? Very few people who have a hearing loss hear nothing at all. But many people who are hard of hearing or deaf hear some sounds. What varies from person to person, is how much they hear. It is confusing for both deaf and hearing people. Jo O’Donovan who runs Parasol Care Centre in Javea has teamed up with Richard Sykes HAD FSHAA who runs Premier Hearing Services to offer a new service at the Care Centre to allow people concerned about their hearing to have a FREE HEARING EXAMINATION.
Female Focus readers will already know that Premier Hearing Services has been established in Spain since 2003 and Richard, its Director, is a qualified Hearing Aid Dispenser from the UK of 20 years standing who has settled in Spain helping Expats with their hearing solutions. But even more than this, not only did Richard work as a hearing aid dispenser himself, but he was then employed as a Hearing Aid Audiologist Trainer for two national training companies for over 8 years (with the responsibility to train students to attain qualification to be Hearing Aid Audiologists) and he also lectured at De Montfort University Leicester, where he studied for a masters degree in auditory science. And even more, in his final years in the UK, Richard was employed as Head of Professional Compliance responsible for maintaining professional standards within the industry. You could not have anybody better helping you with your hearing problems! So come and have a hearing test.
