HEAT PUMPS

In its pursuit of products that are increasingly environment-friendly and low energy, the Pentair R&D team developed the UltraTemp-E

Fairlocks demonstrate their commitment to energy saving and product efficiency with the advanced technology behind the Inverter-plus heat pump

water 26°C / humidity 70%), which is 50% higher than normal on-off heat pumps, and 25% higher than normal inverter heat pumps. Inverter-plus is designed by full-inverter technology, which adjusts the compressor speed hertz by hertz, then matches the pool intelligently with continuous and highest efficiency. As needed, the inverter plus heat pump allows the heating capacity to adjust from 100% to 33% automatically. Inverter-plus technology allows 80% of max output in silence mode, which guarantees the longest quiet running with high COP and high capacity. Inverter-plus adopts super- quiet Mitsubishi inverter compressor, and the specialised ventilation system allows ten times quieter running in low speed. This equates to a sound level just slightly more than you would expect in a library and well below the level of normal conversation. When the heat pump turns on, it will start from low speed and move slowly to high speed, leading to stable and low starting current. The traditional heat pump starting current is 5-7 times higher than running current. On the outside the quality continues with classic aluminium-alloy casing and hidden screws that are simple out-looking and will never rust.

products represent the ‘greenest’ and most efficient products produced by the company and contribute to a more environmentally friendly responsible equipment system. Pentair now has 2 new versions of the UltraTemp available: the UltraTemp-E 20 kW and the UltraTemp-E 25 kW with dual fan. Contact SCP for more information on the UltraTemp-E and other Pentair products.

All in all Inverter-plus is the heat pump designed to satisfy client’s needs quietly and efficiently whilst conserving valuable energy.

THE ECO-FRIENDLY ULTRATEMP-E FROM PENTAIR

In its pursuit of products that are increasingly environment-friendly and low energy, the Pentair R&D team developed the UltraTemp-E, a powerful heat pump that uses the ozone-friendly coolant R410A. This heat pump is user-friendly, has an excellent performance curve and a long life, while fitting in with Pentair’s policy of marketing increasingly sustainable products. The product features a Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) which controls refrigerant flow for optimum efficiency and BTU output over a wider operating range. This results in the highest efficiency available, meeting or exceeding existing codes and standards. The UltraTemp-E is one of Pentair’s Eco-Select™ branded products. These

CASE STUDY The Calorex Propac Gets Top Marks!

Barton Camp in Winscombe, Somerset is custom-built for adventure and learning. Its wide-ranging facilities enable children of all ages to benefit from an exciting and educational experience in the countryside. When the field study centre required a new heat pump for its well-used swimming pool it called in the services of Swimco (A.R.Penny) Ltd, one of the area’s leading pool companies, who in turn sought the advice of Certikin. Faced with a proposal to convert from oil heating to biomass, Certikin’s experts in the H&V section were quickly able to point out that the proposed biomass system was even more expensive to operate than their existing oil boiler. Instead,

a Pro Pac 70 heat pump would reduce their running costs by over a third! Swimco (A.R.Penny) Ltd is a family run business which has been operating in Somerset since 1965 when it started installing school pools for Somerset, Devon, Dorset and Wiltshire County Councils. Director David Penny says: “We have dealt with Barton Camp for many years and being a charitable organisation for disadvantaged c hildren, we have always tried to support them as much as we can.

“Certikin has supplied us with equipment since the very beginning and we have established an excellent working relationship that we very much appreciate. We can reply

QUICK AND EASY INSTALLATION WITH PLASTICA’S HEATSEEKER RANGE

Manufactured for over 20 years by one of the world’s largest heat pump producers, the distinctive HeatSeeker heat pumps in their green livery are available from Plastica and the range features models from 5.6kW to 21kW, meaning there is a solution available for any swimming pool up to 85m3

.

A HeatSeeker consumes less than one- fifth of the electricity of conventional electric pool heaters.

The efficiency of heat pumps is measured by a ‘coefficient of performance’ (COP) and the HeatSeeker range produces a COP of approximately 5 for every 1kW of electricity consumed.

In addition to their efficiency, proven reliability and unbeatable value, models in the range are extremely quick and easy to install and feature standard 1.5 inch connections for ABS pipework.
