SHOW REVIEW

SPATEX, RICOH ARENA, COVENTRY, UK

There’s nothing quite like exhibiting a working product and custom-built mono pools producer NIVEKO saw many people on their stand through the show

is ideal for the show – easy access from the motorway system, free parking, good facilities. Great credit should go to the organisers and, from my point of view, particularly to those involved with the workshops and seminars. However, it is the effort that the exhibitors put in that makes the biggest difference, and they did not let the industry down. Well-presented stands, good product displays and helpful and informative staff.”

The effort from those participating was also acknowledged by the exhibitors themselves

and Jamie Adams of Golden Coast, who had one of the larger stands and a wide variety of products on offer, said: “SPATEX 2015 has been a really good show for Golden Coast and once again exhibitors raised their game in keeping with the venue to produce an excellent and very professional looking exhibition to a point that we’re beginning to look a lot more like the show in Lyon… it is testimony to the work SPATEX are putting in to make this ‘the’ industry show that everyone has been asking for.”

With their impressive modern sauna taking centre stage, Aqua Water Systems drew crowds across the three days at SPATEX

Lyon, they are just two very different events in two very different markets, but the look and feel, albeit on a much smaller scale, is definitely starting to get comparable. Unlike Lyon though, SPATEX is never manic either and that’s no bad thing as visitors and exhibitors do get the chance to actually spend quality time discussing the products and services that are on offer. Overall, visitors seem to like the change in location and the effort that has gone in from both the organisers and exhibitors too as it was confirmed that attendance numbers, at approaching 1,300, were on a par with the previous year. Quite impressive given 2014 was the launch year at the new venue. Commenting on the visitors to the show, Dave Foster of Design Works Tiles said: “The second day was fantastic and probably the best day we’ve had at SPATEX in the last five years. The footfall was incessant.” Commercial visitors more than doubled from last year and are now approaching a quarter of the event’s visitors and many of these had not been seen at SPATEX before. These included wet leisure operators from the likes of hotels, educational establishments, holiday complexes, health clubs, leisure centres and more. “We made some great new contacts and we were very impressed with their diversity,

Despite having a very successful seminar of their own just weeks before, Certikin had one of the bigger stands at the show with plenty of innovative products on display
