By using the latest technologies the Covrex®

Solar is one of the most innovative pool covers on the market. The product provides a heating surface that is 20 to 30% bigger than other slatted solar pool covers, thanks to a flexible, polyurethane connection between each slat. Traditional solar covers are comprised slats which have three or four hollow compartments, one of which is used to fit the hinge. This compartment is therefore filled with water and doesn’t have a heating function. As a consequence a classic solar cover loses 1/4 or even 1/3 of its heating capacity because one compartment is used as attachment between the different slats. The Covrex®

Solar slats don’t need the

compartment with a hinge because it uses a solid but flexible connection. This connection replaces the hinges that are used in traditional pool covers and allows the entire surface of the cover to heat the pool. The absence of hinges gives the product its excellent thermal efficiency. In addition, the hollow compartment with the hinge in all other solar covers is open and allows water to run through but therefore also dirt and algae, which is the reason why traditional solar covers are hard to clean. Covrex®

Solar avoids

the accumulation of algae and dirt in the smaller, less accessible spaces and can at the beginning of the season even be cleaned using a pressure washer.

NEW COVER SYSTEM IS A TOP’MOOV BY T&A With over 20 years of experience in producing automatic pool covers, Belgium based Technics & Applications bvba (T&A) produces 2,500 covers per year which are distributed to more than 20 different countries. Easy and quick to install, the factory-fitted wireless control box allows for locking with a code. Like all DEL products, special attention has been paid to its design. As well as being watertight, it is stylish, too.

a new above-ground automatic slatted cover called Top’Moov. This movable cover system stands on a stainless steel track in order to move the cover back and forward. It makes it possible to install on existing swimming pools and pools with non-rectangular shapes. The complete cover mechanism can be put behind the pool while swimming and the aluminium bench with wooden slats can be used to sit or relax on. The bench is available in any possible RAL colour. A mechanism with an in-roller 24V motor connected to a solar power supply makes this cover easy to install on new or existing pools.

Golden Coast highlights the latest advances from DEL saying that when it comes to pool covers, French manufacturer DEL – time and time again – never fail to impress with covers that are both aesthetically and practically pleasing. And this year’s SPATEX was no exception as its exclusive UK distributor Golden Coast revealed a number of exciting new developments – including what’s believed to be a world first – automatic cover systems featuring DEL’s Wi-key remote control. Available as an option on most DEL automatic cover systems, including RollOver, the wireless remote control system puts owners in control of their pool’s operation and security – wherever they may be.

The new technology can be incorporated into the DEL automatic cover range’s latest addition: RollFit. It provides installers with a discreet solution for installations – up to 25 metres long – where it is not possible to go deeper to create a roller pit area. At SPATEX, Golden Coast also launched the French manufacturer’s latest generation of stylishly shaped step unit end caps, as well as five new colour choices for its polycarbonate slats. New colours for 2015 include black and crystal, crystal clear, green translucent, blue translucent and brown translucent. Built to meet the stringent French safety standard NF P 90-308, the polycarbonate slats are backed by a five-year guarantee and are a ‘solar’ slat, in that they help absorb heat from the sun and transmit this into the pool’s water.

These new additions join DEL’s impressive line-up above and in-ground solutions that include RollEnergy, Rollin/RollKit, RollOver and Moove’O.

AQUAMAT COMMERCIAL POOL COVER SAVINGS Aquamat are the UK’s specialist commercial cover and roller manufacturer and are keen to relay to their commercial pool customers how having a pool cover will dramatically increase their profitability. The company’s Managing Director Dick Goodall explains: “It’s amazing how much money can be saved by just covering a pool when it’s not in use, but it seems that few operators are aware of exactly how much these savings can be. Of course every pool is different and energy loss can vary due to the following factors; geographical location; the building insulation; the amount and type of glass in the building together with the air handling system. It’s very important to use the pool cover at every opportunity and keep it working efficiently and in good repair. Heat loss is mainly due
