Move To European Production Provides Numerous Benefits For Superior Spas
This year, Superior Spas have moved their manufacturing of hot tubs to production lines within the EU. This includes several lines incorporating ABB robots.
The new facility gives Superior Spas the freedom to design and develop cutting edge technologies and produce ecologically better and extremely high quality hot tubs. For example, the acrylic used in the shell manufacturing process includes a layer of ABS polymer to increase strength and impact resistance, the hot tub shells are then sprayed by robots with a high density layer of polyurethane which is stronger, lighter and less hazardous than traditional fibreglass. A medium density polyurethane layer is also added providing further strength plus acoustic and thermal insulation and because the sound insulation is actually part of the shell – not just a sprayed on afterthought – super quiet operation is possible. In addition, the entire shell system insulates so energy costs are reduced too.
This ground breaking system has transformed the way spas are made and is
unique Superior Spa ‘Reflective Thermal Barrier’ (RTB) insulation bounces waste heat back into the plumbing, whilst keeping out the colder outer air. Superior Spas have even built this system into the spa’s cover to reflect rising heat back into the water. This integrated system means a Superior Spa is exceptionally economical to own. Many spa manufacturers still use spray foam insulation whilst a few even still mount the spa equipment outside the spa cabinet. These old legacy
so advanced it needs robots to apply! This end result is a super strong, eco neutral, bio degradable, totally safe shell that will protect both an owner’s investment and family for many years to come. The process also guarantees absolute consistency and quality control of each finished spa as well as reducing production costs – a saving that is passed on to customers.
