Isaac is talking with native bands to supply housing that will be durable and has bid on a large provincial contract to supply classrooms.
On Isaac’s desk there are motivational and management strategy books.
“I have found meaning and fulfillment,” said Isaac. “I want to be a source of inspiration to others, to employees and team members — a positive influence.”
The code he lives by is to be ethical and honest to a fault and to meet deadlines and costing.
He believes in helping staff and creating a ripple effect that can change the workplace, their home, family, school and community.
“We are not here to get in the hamster wheel. We all have what it takes inside us,” said Isaac.
If an employee is unhappy Isaac believes he can choose to respond to that person in fear or love.
“I apply the love filter and make decisions out of love,” he explains.
In the last two-and-a-half years the company has given $327,000 to charity, benefiting 166 local families. Where the money will go is decided by the employees.
In the yard, trailer after trailer is waiting for delivery. Step inside and you feel as though you’re in a show home. There are even swing-out barbecues just outside the front door.
Massive workshops are preparing to manufacture those Tru-Eco modular homes and Isaac makes a point of saying hello to every employee he passes. ■
