a thrilling Game 7 — 3-2 in double overtime — in the midst of rising levels of fog on the ice on a warm May evening in Medicine Hat to earn the Ed Chynoweth Cup,

“I just remember Brennan Bosch falling down at our blue line, getting up and skating with the puck, just crossing their line and shooting on net. That was the game winner, the series winner. It was a great feeling,” said Tigers assistant coach Jerrid Sauer, a member of the 2007 championship-winning Tabbies roster. “It was a real special game. Everything was on the line. They were a really good team and we already battled so hard through the rest of the series. Getting to overtime, and to kind of top it all off all the fog started rolling into the rink. I think we stopped the game at least three or four times if my memory serves me correct. We had to get on the ice and skate in circles to try and raise the fog. There were some points in time where I'm pretty sure the goalies couldn't even see the puck.”

Given the rich history, which has seen a slew of Tigers make the jump to the National Hockey League in the organization’s 45 years, moving between buildings without sacrificing those memories is a priority for the franchise.

“We're looking at that as well, what do we want to take with us. Some of those things are very, very important not only to the team but the fans as well,” said Andjelic. “We're going to take a hard look at making the transition of that history to see exactly where we can put it up. There will definitely be some display space in the new arena for that.”

“It's definitely one of the most historic rinks so far or still remaining,” added Sauer. “It's going to be a nice new look

for the Tigers and a great opportunity to go in there and start creating some new history in the new rink, but we'll never forget about the teams that played there and all the history that's here. We'll just try to move that and continue it on in the new rink.”

While there's lots of excitement for the future, there's still history to be made in The Arena. As the Tigers push for their sixth WHL title as a fitting farewell to the fond old barn, Andjelic hinted that it's sure to be a special outro to a building that's seen so much success.

“You're just going to have to wait and see,” he said with a smile. “We've got some things planned, and right now we're keeping that pretty close to the vest. But we do have something planned coming up here shortly”■
