Are you interested in trying sailing for the first time, or finding somewhere you can continue to enjoy the sport now you live in Spain? Well now’s your chance! The only multi-national sailing club on the Costa Calida, SAMM, invites you to their Open Day on Thursday 9th April 10am until 4pm at CTD, Los Narejos, Los Alcàzares on the Mar Menor. SAMM, the Sailing Association Mar Menor, has over 120 members and most belong to one of six ‘Boat-Share Groups’ whose boats include dinghies, day sailers, a catamaran and a motor boat. Another Group sail radio controlled model yachts and the owners of three large cruisers offer sailing opportunities. In addition to pleasure sailing, SAMM has an active racing program and a lively ‘Social Scene’. The ‘Open day’ is being held at CTD (Centro Technico Deportivo), the Spanish sports academy right on the beach at Los Narejos, which is the centre of our activities. Except for the large cruisers our boats are based there. CTD is a fabulous venue open every day of the year. Its cafe sells hot and cold drinks and a selection of tapas, at bargain prices. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas, toilets and shower facilities. All SAMM Groups encourage interested people to come and try their boats before joining and this ‘Open Day’ offers the perfect opportunity. So come along, examine our boats, talk to our members and, weather permitting, get out on the water for a trial sail. For more information about SAMM in-advance of the ‘Open Day’ please visit our web site at www.sailingmarmenor.com.
