Yes, a urine test can determine whether or not a woman is ovulating or pregnant, it can help with the diagnosis of cystitis, and it is used to test for a variety of substances relating to drug abuse, particularly in the world of professional sport. But a urine test can help show up so much more too. It can show if there are any abnormal products in the urine such as an excesses or insufficiencies of sugar, proteins, minerals, or if any blood or hidden blood is present - thus helping to disclose diseases of many different organs of the body.
Here’s a quick list of what a urine test might disclose: l Blood in the urine may be a sign of different diseases in the
kidneys, the urinary system or the bladder. l Sugar in the urine may be a sign of diabetes. l Protein in the urine may be a sign of a kidney disease and can be used to detect the early signs of kidney damage from
long-standing diabetes. l During the process of the consultation the subject of incontinence will be covered. That’s a whole lot of information disclosed from a simple wee, and this list isn’t exhaustive either! The KIDNEYS and BLADDER The older you get the more problems you will have with your bladder, incontinence and stones, and if you know anyone who has had stones, you will know from them how incredibly painful they can be. Just take a look at the picture and you will see what a kidney stone can look like. Imagine trying to wee that out.... excruciating pain!
