It’s mid-March as I am writing this, sitting in my studio, looking out at the lovely sunshine that surely must mean summer is on its way…hurrah! So this month, I thought I’d show some makeovers that will hopefully inspire you to prepare your outside space for the summer to come …those long afternoons supping gin and tonics followed by BBQ fi lled evenings supping glasses of ice cold white wine, not that our Expat lives are centred around alcohol of course…!!!
A bit of va va voom for your outside space!
When it comes to creating the perfect outdoor space we at Lotus, coupled with my husband’s company Vista Awnings and Blinds, have gained plenty of experience over the years. For me it’s all about gorgeous coordinating fabrics for outside furniture; box cushions, scatter cushions and comfy seat pads for dining chairs, whilst Darren concentrates on the practical aspect of providing sensible shade solutions so that those long afternoons can be whiled away without the risk of sunstroke or worse. In the studio we have a fantastic range of fabrics that are specifically designed to be used outside; fade resistant,
mildew resistant and stain resistant, these fabrics come in plain colours, traditional deckchairs stripes, gorgeous multi-coloured fl orals and super trendy geometrics, so there is plenty of choice whatever your taste. We even have mildew resistant voiles ideal for hanging in your pergola or terrace to soften hard edges or give a trendy beach bar look. Darren installs all types of awning, builds gorgeous wooden pergolas and is particularly good at providing bespoke
solutions for diffi cult spaces…he’s an engineer, what more can I say!
