We are looking for any photos, records, plans (anything really) or any information on owners of Ault Wharrie and are
particularly interested information prior to 1950’s
From our own research we know the architect was George Walton and the house was built for
John Graham Stewart - one of the founders of Stewarts and Lloyds the steel manufacturers.
We have uncovered a number of original 1901 was features, including JGS intitals all over the wall in the hall and a number of other wall friezes.
To date we have not found any original drawings and can only guess what the 1924 extensions consisted of.
Any help and information would be greatly appreciated.
