Plant of the Month:
Camellia
Camellias are evergreen shrubs with beautifully large fl owers up to 12cm in diameter varying from white to red to pink. They are super for splashing colour across your garden during Winter when everything else is dying back.
These plants grow quickly so they’re great for space-fi llers or for gardens that need to mature at speed. Most Camellias will grow to between 8 and 20ft tall if you leave them.
Most Camellias prefer a shadier location with good drainage, but not too much water. Plant carefully - mulch the top of the root surface but don’t pack too much soil on top of the roots as they need a good oxygen supply.
