The Benefi ts of Group Training...


There are just some things you can do, which are more fun if shared with others. Experiences such as eating, going to the beach or even to the movies can be more enjoyable if shared with family and friends. I believe that this is also the case with exercise. We all know that we need to get at least 20 minutes of high intensity exercise fi ve times per week, but the thought of going for a walk, jog or even attending the gym by yourself can be daunting. Why not increase enjoyment, variety and get the benefi ts of exercising by training with others?


What is group PT? Group personal training is where like- minded individuals whom all have a similar exercise goal come together in one location for a specifi ed period of time, with one or two trainers to complete an exercise class. The training program is carefully designed to hit target areas of exercise with a view to progression. Meal plans can be provided to maximise results. Group PT can be for all levels of fi tness. If an exercise is too hard for an individual to perform, the trainer will be on hand to assist or provide an alternative option


Group training has many benefi ts: Provides motivation Group exercising under the guidance of a trainer can be very benefi cial for both the individual and the group, primarily because you receive constant encouragement and motivation.


Generally, when an individual


trains by themselves, they can fall into the habit of losing motivation, forget to push themselves to the next level or quite simply “skip corners” and only do half as much as they thought they would. When people start working out as a group their stamina

increases and the group itself encourages and pushes individual members to achieve their goals. Price competitive Group training is less expensive than training one-on-one with a personal trainer (although tends to be more generalised) and is often comparable in price to a gym membership. You can fi nd group exercise classes to suit all types of budgets.


Provide routine Often people join a group exercise program as it helps them commit to an exercise routine. You commit to paying in advance, can lock it in the diary and are accountable to show up.


Provides variety Why go to a class that provides one particular method of training? I can tell you now that variety is the key to getting that body you’ve been dreaming of. Mix your training up to keep your body guessing! Always growing to meet the new demands placed on it. If training stays the same, your body stays the same. Group PT is structured to avoid the maintenance plateau. Progressively challenging your body with diff erent training methods and techniques

physical and mental wellbeing. Current group PT members always fi nd the experience invigorating, it is one thing to have a goal, its another thing to challenge the body and mind so you can achieve that goal
