The FAD Junior Awards ended London Fashion Week showcasing 20 student finalists’ designs at Fashion Scout, Freemasons Hall. The 16–19-year- old’s from London’s inner cities showed the British fashion industry that they have what is needed to take the industry by storm!
The London Fashion Week catwalk show, sponsored by George of ASDA and organised by creative charity Fashion Awareness Direct (FAD), showcased an array of garments designed and lovingly hand-crafted by 20 young talents from in and around London. All these teens had triumphed to become FAD Junior Award finalists and had gained the opportunity to show their work at Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week. Students created their garments around the theme of ‘Here & Now’ – objects, people and themes that symbolised the London spirit and the environment that surrounds them.
The FAD Junior Awards catwalk show is the conclusion of ‘Fashion Futures’ a series of workshops involving over 100 students. Students from around London participated in a series of hands-on workshops gaining valuable insight into the fashion industry as well as learning fundamental skills in research, design and craft, culminating in them designing their own garments from scratch.

The Fashion Futures initiative aims to provide teenagers with a realistic insight into what it means to work in the creative industries. FAD uses fashion as a tool to connect with young people – to develop vocational and professional skills, while also encouraging self esteem, motivation and aspirations for a better future.
