Digital media Chamber’s website gets refresh

While we’re encouraging Chamber members to embrace e-commerce, we can’t forget our own website. Our front window, the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce website, will be undergoing some refinements over the coming months. We will be working to increase the functions of the website. “We are constantly looking at keeping it fresh and ensuring that it works well

on different platforms. We hope to improve its functionality on smartphones and tablets,” said Anne Marie Hughes, Head of Communications at Glasgow Chamber. “We are also making it easier for members to book events online. We hope this will increase the uptake of some of the superb events that we offer to our members. It will also make it easier for new Glasgow businesses to join too.”

Is ecommerce working for you?

Glasgow Chamber is keen to help its members improve their commercial capabilities while minimising risk and helping their business to grow. Through working with Chamber member INDEZ, we are proud to launch the etradetester. The etradetester should be

the first step for any business considering moving into the online market or businesses looking to expand and assess their current success online. The feasibility test provides businesses with detailed, independent guidance on a combination of statistical market data and expert knowledge about the factors known to be important for trading success. As well as receiving your report as a document, you will also receive an interactive session with an ecommerce expert who will be able to explain the analysis in full and answer any questions that stem from the report.

Benefit of Belonging STV Glasgow members’ discount

Since its recent launch, STV Glasgow has already captured the imagination of the city’s residents and its business community. For many businesses in Glasgow, it is the first opportunity to promote themselves on air to a Glasgow audience, in a relevant environment, at affordable rates. STV is offering exclusive ‘foundation’ packages to Glasgow Chamber of

Commerce members. These heavily subsidised packages are available from £2,500 and include a two-week TV advertising campaign on the channel, 100,000 page impressions on STV Glasgow content online, and introductory TV production (graphics ad or shoot) as well as digital artwork.

“This is an evolving service

for our members as we test the demand. Companies that don’t get their head around what makes ecommerce work successfully are putting themselves at a distinct disadvantage, so we are delighted to be introducing this offering to members,” said Chamber Chief Executive Stuart Patrick.
