lasgow’s creative industries are admired around the globe and it is refreshing that companies such as MadeBrave are continuing to


enhance this reputation. Based in Studio 404, on Osborne Street just


off the Trongate, this expanding graphic design business is a hotbed of imaginative thoughts turned into reality. Te proof is the striking artwork created for Aggreko’s temporary power units for the Commonwealth Games. Te images of dripping-wet swimmers emerging from the water in full flow were engaging and appealing. It certainly gave Aggreko’s mundane power plants the wow factor. winner in the Glasgow Business Awards, picking up the prize as Best Performing Business (1-10 employees). It has now outgrown that category for this year’s awards. “Since winning the award last October,


we’ve continued to enjoy great success, securing new business from high-profile brands such as Arup, Aggreko and Peter Vardy. More work needs more people, so we’ve also doubled in size and now have a 16-strong, hugely talented team including two graduate interns,” said Andrew Dobbie, the founder and Managing Director of MadeBrave. “Our social media presence has definitely


helped us to recruit the right people and atract new business as we have more than 7,000 followers who engage with our brand on a daily basis. Te team work incredibly hard every day, but we haven’t stopped having a good time – Pinto for lunch, Brew Dog beer on a Friday, lots of beard chat – it’s all part of the

creative process and our culture has definitely helped us get to where we are today. We are excited by what’s ahead for MadeBrave.” Kirstin McKay, the brand strategist at

Andrew, who worked for a number of years in larger agencies before seting up MadeBrave, has spoken at several Glasgow Chamber of Commerce events where the response to his creative journey has been very well received by emerging businesses.
