SHOWS ROUNDUP
SPLASH! AUSTRALIA A SELL OUT Since the first SPLASH! in 1998, the exhibition has become the essential meeting place for pool builders, contractors, retailers, manufacturers, architects and landscapers, with the most comprehensive educational workshops and seminars. This year’s SPLASH! will be held on 16 – 17 July 2014, at Jupiters Gold Coast, Queensland. The biennial event draws more than 100 exhibitors and 2,000 attendees from Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. The important Australasian pool and spa trade show sold out of space with four months to go. It has the support of leading companies in the industry, with Astral Pool as platinum sponsor, Bioniser as gold sponsor, Eagles as silver sponsor and over 100 exhibitors in the trade show from Australia, New Zealand, China, North America and Europe. For the first time in its history, the World Aquatic Health Conference (WAHC) will be held outside of the USA and will take place as part of the Australian exhibition on 17 – 18 July. “Where Science Meets Policy & Industry” will bring together a dynamic group of world-renowned experts who will spotlight the latest advances in science, industry and regulations to provide a safer, healthier aquatic experience. Thanks to this conference delegates from throughout Australia will be able to network with government and industry professionals. Simon Cooper, Managing Director of organisers Interpoint Events said: “This year we’ve expanded the education to include a week of educational opportunities.” The week-long education programme at SPLASH! presents many learning opportunities for the pool industry. In terms of adding networking opportunities, the post show Andrew Simons Golf Day has introduced a new format with a chance to win a golf trip to Las Vegas.
Plus for the first time, the black tie national SPASA Australia Awards Dinner will be held.

suppliers, fitness enthusiasts, health clubs, spa centres, and affluent customers (HNIs) from all over India and around the globe. According to industry experts, over 5,000 new swimming pools were built in private residencies and commercial complexes throughout India in 2012. Furthermore, the number of new pools is expected to cross over 20,000 per annum as increasingly more Indians become aware of the affordability and low maintenance required to own a pool. Industry experts predict that within the next five years, the pool market in India will reach US $1 billion, with the pool and hot tub market growing at a rate of over 50% per year.
PISCINE GLOBAL A MUST ATTEND EVENT
As the world’s biggest event for swimming pool and spa professionals, the biennial Piscine exhibition in Lyon really is one not to be missed, and to reflect the show’s now truly global nature and importance, for 2014 the name has changed to Piscine Global. The 14th edition of the show takes place at Eurexpo from 18 – 21 November. Piscine Global is effectively three shows under one roof and brings together pools and spas for residential use through Piscine; public pools and spas, aquatic areas and wellness through Aqualie; and outdoor pools and the environment with Living Pool. In Europe, France is the market leader for the industry so it is no real surprise to find the largest show there. In 2012, the show attracted over 600 exhibitors from 35 countries and over 17,500 visitors attended from 90 countries. With the show being such an important event on the world calendar, Piscine Global is able to claim to be the only exhibition that brings together the world’s 70 leading players in the industry within a club – the Majors Club.
The 2014 edition will inevitably focus on products that display technical innovation and environmental benefits to meet the current challenges of the industry and to satisfy the needs and expectations of customers who are anxious about energy costs and consumption.
