Jacuzzi Spa & Bath Annual Conference And Awards
The start of every new season is an important time for Jacuzzi Spa & Bath and each year the company holds a conference to advise dealers of the latest news, incentives, features and hot tub models for the UK market. It has also become the traditional time to celebrate successes of the previous year and reward Jacuzzi® recognition and praise they deserve.

Held during the day at the impressive Outdoor Living Ltd showroom in Leeds, the conference started with attendees being given a global update on the success of the company in the previous 12 months. This was followed with presentations on the many new innovations made by the company, a closer look at new models including the J-300 and the new Aqua Fit Systems swim spas plus other subjects which ranged from marketing and promotions to up selling and website improvements.
In the evening, attention turned to the company’s annual Hot Tub
Awards. This year, the company held them at the Oulton Hall Hotel near Leeds, West Yorkshire. The unique 18th century former family mansion with its beautiful landscaped gardens, imposing statues, sweeping spiral staircases and a state-of-the-art spa provided the perfect venue for the awards. Guests were treated to a Prosecco Reception followed by an evening of dinner, drinks and celebrations. The awards evening recognises retailers for their contribution over the previous 12 months and the acclaimed ‘Retailer of the Year’ award is one which every Jacuzzi retailer aspires to achieve. Spafix Direct To Rebrand As Vortex Distribution
In a follow up to the editorial published in the April edition of SPN, Darren Waters, Managing Director of Spafix Direct has announced that the company have begun the process of rebranding the e-commerce website from Spafix Direct to Vortex Distribution. The full transition is expected to take three to six months and during the rebranding, the website will continue to function in much the same way as before. Plans are in place for a brand new website in the months ahead.
Steps have already been taken to close down the online retail facility to enable the company to focus solely on trade sales. The company see this as the next step along the way, finally distancing the spare parts distribution business from the service and repair business. When asked what the benefits are to this move for his existing trade customers, Darren said: “Ultimately

most trade customers aren’t too fussed by the fact we have always sold to both trade and retail just as long as the service and pricing were ok. Overall it is a choice of mine to take a slightly different route to our competitors. Even though our retail prices are high enough to deflect retail sales, removing the option for customers to be able to buy from us nationwide will certainly help to promote the idea of local businesses serving their local customer base.” The company’s local walk-in shop will continue to serve passing trade and retail customers but prices will no longer be
published on their website. The only way to access online pricing is now via an account login page. There will be messages on a ‘contact us’ page advising new and existing trade customers what they need to do and also to inform retail customers that the company can put them in touch with their local approved supplier.
Darren added: “No doubt there will be a bit of confusion to begin with but over time everything should even out. This is a move I have been putting off for a few years now for fear of the work involved but we are this far along now so no turning back. Sometimes these kind of things throw up some unexpected problems but I am sure we will work them out as we go.”
