Back to School Tips
We’ve all heard of the three Rs - Reading, Writing and Arithmetic - but did you know that the three Rs can also make going back to school a more enjoyable and less stressful experience for everyone concerned? It’s a diff erent set of Rs.
The fi rst is Research. A smooth and problem- free return to school should begin by doing a bit of homework on the school or classroom and the teacher. Pay a visit, have a look around and introduce yourself and your young one. Many children worry about whether they will like their new teacher - hopefully a positive meeting will help alleviate these fears.
Next, make sure you gather all the Resources your child requires in plenty of time. Don’t leave it to the last minute to fi nd or purchase items such as uniform, supplies and school bags. Make a commitment to do it at the start of the summer before you get distracted by other important considerations - like holidays!
Finally, get yourself into the new Routine a couple of days before school starts. Re- establish school bedtimes, practice packing bags and making lunches, and have a dummy run in the morning to make sure you can all get ready in time.
Armed with these three Rs you are sure of a Rewarding and Relaxed Return to school!
