11-15th August is the week of the Radio Rainbow Highland Games and children from P1 to P7 are all invited.

D.J. has received an invitation to represent the club at the World Games. Will Nerys, the holiday club team and children manage to persuade him to go, to encourage him to take part, to help him to win? With some fun characters, including Auntie Jessie who becomes D.J.’s personal trainer, and lots of Scottish-themed activities, this promises to be a holiday club the children will remember.

As D.J. faces the challenge and responsibility of representing Radio Rainbow at the Games, he learns from stories about Jesus told by Matthew from the Gospel Book which is named after him. As the children explore these stories in their groups they will be encouraged to think about the special kind of friendship Jesus off ers.

Primary 4-7 children will have their own activities upstairs at elev8ed.

They will

be checking out the characters’ stories in Matthew’s Message, doing experiments, craft activities and taking part in crazy obstacle and relay races.

In addition, they will be

invited to a chill-out afternoon with games, fun and food.

Application forms are available in the schools and churches and in Dunblane Library or visit www.radiorainbow.org.

Note that are

100 places and they will be allocated on a fi rst-come, fi rst-serve basis. The team for the week is made up of members of churches in Dunblane, including a number of youngsters aged 12 to 17 who will be helping and leading groups and running activities.

The team is always grateful for support

from members of the community. This year we are looking especially for tartan paper and ribbon, magazine or calendar pictures of Scottish scenes and large blocks of polystyrene. If you have any queries or can help in any way, please contact team leaders Duncan Strathdee (duncan@radiorainbow.org) or Nerys Brown (nerys@radiorainbow.org) or phone 824 511.
