This year as part of the celebrations we are creating a memory board with pictures and people’s fondest memories of the Centre. This month our memories come from Gillian Gray, who performs and helps with the theatre at the Centre.
Dunblane Centre Newsletter
In 2006, I joined Pamela Mackie at the Dunblane Centre for the very fi rst Show in a Week and I’ve never looked back. I have had the privilege of being a part of every show produced by Pamela at the Centre ever since. From 50 on stage in 2006 to 138 in 2014, it’s fair to say we’ve expanded slightly!
Favourite memories? Beauty and the Beast of course – who couldn’t play Belle and not let it go to their head? And of course the dress of all dresses! Other favourite memories include the Wizard of Oz where I was painted head to toe in what I was assured was highly washable green paint (it wasn’t), Little Shop of Horrors and being swallowed by a gigantic plant every night and Into the Woods a truly magical once in a lifetime outdoor theatre experience.
Favourite memory? I think that I develop a new memory with every show or pantomime that we do with our wonderful young cast. The joy and excitement that they experience from rehearsal and being on stage makes me feel very proud to share the stage with them. I look forward to developing many more memories at the Centre with everyone young and old(er)…. Here’s to the next 10 years!
