Even the New York Times praises the “contagious irreverence” of his music. “Zimmerman is a guy on the left skewering folks on the right with rapier-sharp lyrics,” adds Sing Out! children. My daughter is a great help and watches very carefully how things are done. She will make a fantastic cook. My son has informed me that no matter where life takes him, he will always come home for my Thanksgiving dinner, period.

In a sense I feel the same

way, except my mom comes over to our house for Holidays. We don’t let her off the hook so easy, though. I shouldn’t admit that our family forces a little old lady to bake pies and cran- berry sauce from scratch, but we do. NOBODY can make them as good, and I insist she make the gravy too. Although, I know she wouldn’t have it any other way.

She brings a lot more to the table than just the pies. Everything at that table is a part of her. The family china that she gave us for our wed- ding has forty plus years of my memories attached. The food is prepared the way she taught me and the people at the table are directly linked to her. She is who introduced me to my husband two decades ago, and no grandmother has ever been loved more than my kids love their ‘Gramso’. She brings laughter, love and wis- dom to our table, all year long. I am thankful for so many things in my life, but right at this moment I am most thank- ful for my mother.

"What do you mean?"

"All they kept screaming was: Get the quarter back! Get the quarter back!"
