store. I had met him in the early 2000's. In his own words he elabo- rates,

" My relation- ship with Stanroy

began in the early 90's when I visited the store weekly to take guitar lessons from Steve Smyth. In 2001 I began working at the store. I was employed there for a few years before my life long interest in theatrical makeup inspired me to move back east to attend a special effects school.

After school I returned

to California where I worked at Stanroy briefly before jet- ting off to Cairo Egypt for 9 months to work on a TV show. When I returned to the states I immediately moved to LA where I worked on films such as Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and James Cameron's Avatar until 2008 when I returned to Sonoma County to be married and raise a family. I've played guitar

and drums in many Sonoma County bands including Me & Mark, The Drone, Burnpile, The Secret Courtesy, Stump Removal Kit, Luv'n Rockets, Add it Up and more. I also occasionally serve as guitar player and backing vocalist for David J. (original mem- ber of Bauhaus and Love & Rockets) for shows around the Bay Area, LA and Las Vegas. Stanroy has been with me since the beginning, so when Steve came to me and asked if I wanted to help him guide the store into its second century, I didn't have to think about it very long."

Maxwell House's famous advertising slogan is "Good to the last drop." While it was adopted as the coffee company's tagline in the mid-1920s, it was purported to have been coined by none other than President Theodore Roosevelt in 1907.

Kurt Vonnegut's book "Breakfast of Champions" took its name from the ad slogan of Wheaties. A disclaimer was added to the book, stating that Vonnegut was not intending to suggest a connection between his novel and the cereal, nor was he attempting to "disparage their fine product."

"Have it your way" was one of the first attempts at a Burger King slogan that did not fail immediately. The campaign lasted from the 1970s (with the memorable "hold the pickle, hold the lettuce" song) until today.
