POOL & SPA EXPO 2013, NEC, BIRMINGHAM, UK

with a number of them, most were positive about the show and said it had delivered a professional environment and had come together quickly and easily. Additional services were arranged with minimal fuss and there was free in hall lifting. Vita Spas were one company that would have benefitted from that and they had a prominent and well executed stand. The themed area featured a number of nice touches including built in wooden benches and scatter cushions surrounding a centrepiece occupied by the newly launched and impressive ‘Fontaine’ designer spa. The company also used the show to launch the new 100 Series which consists of three well designed entry level models which replace their old styled rotary moulded range.. Speaking about the event, Richard Hart said: “The NEC show was a real success on three levels. Firstly from a sales point of view we did good business and raised the profile of our Vita Spa brand to a new level. Secondly as an exhibitor it was an absolute delight as we were able to build a much better quality stand with the help from the NEC and the show organisers that we would not have been able to achieve at other spa shows and thirdly, we were able to attract many more of our existing customers to the show purely down to its central location.” With a host of exhibiting companies both UK based and international and over 1,600 visitors, the UK Pool & Spa Expo organisers were pleased that they had created a professional platform for business. They said that the event proved without question to be a very successful first edition and wanted to extend a thank you to everyone who took part. The exhibitors who made such a fantastic effort – had a great attitude and helped to make the launch event such a success. They also thanked every one of the visitors who attended the event, even with the threat of severe weather problems. With a staggering 1,100 sq.m of space being re booked on site for 2014’s event which will run in conjunction with ‘The Spring Caravan & Camping Show’, they are keen to ensure their second edition is one not to be missed. SHOW REVIEW

all aspects of the Wet Leisure sector and introducing new aspects to the event. Not satisfied with standing still, Event Director Claire Saunders said: “Running UK Pool & Spa Expo at The NEC was the obvious venue for a professional, UK event – something this industry needed and had long been missing. We have had a wonderful response from exhibitors and peers on how our first event went and have had some great feedback on how to improve on this year’s offering. With a high level of business secured for 2014 we cannot wait for the show to grow into the number one event in the UK for this sector.” She added: “We have strived to offer fresh and dynamic ideas throughout our show campaign and will continue to do this. UK Pool & Spa Expo was created after a want from industry – they weren’t satisfied with previous marketing opportunities and wanted something strong to support. We believe we have

offered this – we are also aware that with another event taking place in 2014 the market may be split – I would like to assure industry that we will continue to communicate with the trade associations supporting this sector to look at creating a strong platform for the UK wet leisure industry to be proud of. Our event has been created on request from industry and we are here to listen and accommodate requests, we want you to get a strong return from your investment and will do everything possible to make that happen.” On show features such as Business 2 Business areas and new product zones will run again and be joined by other new initiatives which will be announced throughout the year.
