anniversary this year, were presenting a number of new products to the wider industry including an Intelliflo Variable Speed Pump, a Commercial MultiCyclone, a Dolphin Hybrid Cleaner and much more. Commenting on the show, Certikin Marketing Manager, Catherine Saunders: “There was a real buzz at SPATEX 2013, making it the best one in my opinion for many years. The whole event went without a hitch. It was a very smooth and well organised event from start to finish. From a business perspective, SPATEX was very productive for us – it was great to see so many of our existing customers visit our stand, and to meet with new clients too. We used SPATEX as the launch platform for our Win A Car competition at and generated a great deal of interest in Certikin Dosing as a result. Good work SPATEX, I can’t wait to see what you have in store for 2014!” It’s fair to say that many exhibitors return year after year to SPATEX. Pollet Pool Group (PPG) are one such regular and were celebrating for more than one reason at the Brighton event. Not only were they proud to be offering BAYROL products under a new exclusive distribution deal, but 2013 was their tenth year at the show and to mark the occasion, Managing Director Peter Evens and Show Organiser Michele Bridle jointly cut a themed cake.

SPATEX welcomed a number of new faces to the show too and speaking of the experience, Douglas Deans of first time exhibitors Poolpod said: “We had lots of interest on our stand, did loads of networking, and secured some really good leads. This is our first year for launching Poolpod, a pool lift that provides independent and dignified access to the pool. We feel after our SPATEX experience that the future is looking bright.” SPATEX regular Kevin Sanger of Elite Spas said: “SPATEX 2013 was a very positive experience for Elite. We picked up some excellent leads, both in and out of the Exhibition hall. In fact, we signed a new dealer in the bar and had five companies to see following the Show.”

Fairlocks experienced their best SPATEX to date and have been overwhelmed with the interest from visitors. A late edition to their impressive product display, which amongst others included the Covrex Automatic Fully Insulated Pool Cover, JetSolar Pool Heating and Besgo Automatic Backwash Valve, was the Gizmo Submersible Drill that can be operated in depths of up to 20 metres. To date underwater drilling has been limited to that of pneumatic or hydraulic both of which require a link to a compressor or tank. The Gizmo Submersible Drill operates with

integrated batteries making the job far more straightforward in wet conditions and for underwater work. Tony Welsby of Spa Crest Europe was delighted with the show saying: “SPATEX 2013 exceeded all of Spa Crest Europe’s expectations. We had more visitors to our stand and more leads (both in numbers and in quality) than any previous SPATEX show. Having spoken to many fellow exhibitors, I know that was also the case for them as well. There was certainly a buzz and vibrancy, from the moment the doors opened on the Sunday. Along with a packed itinerary of professionally delivered, relevant and well-attended workshops, the always well- supported SPATA and BISHTA Gala Awards dinner (over 300 attendees this year) topped it off. We certainly left Brighton on a high.” Elizabeth Wilkinson, Marketing Manager at Lovibond Tintometer Ltd commented: “The sun shone again on SPATEX this year encouraging visitors to attend the event, making it an interactive, excellent networking experience. It was great to meet up again with industry peers and a good opportunity to introduce them and others to the new Lovibond®

SPATEX 2013 FIGURES Some feared that SPATEX may suffer from reduced figures in 2013 but the following shows that the three day event is alive and kicking and still appeals to a wide audience: • Visitor numbers up 17% on the first two days compared to 2012

• Trade visitor attendance up 10.7% since 2010 • Pool installer, maintenance and retail businesses attendance up 10.9% since 2009

• 33.5% of trade visitors are wet facility operators, demonstrating that SPATEX is a key event in their calendar

The new entrance and new products area gave a fresh feel to the show

• 65% of SPATEX visitors are directly involved with purchasing products and services up 26% since 2010
