new products to the wider industry and this year’s event was no different. Aquaflex chose SPATEX 2013 to introduce their new ‘Touch’ Alkorplan onsite lining material which has been created to replicate natural finishes such as sand, slate and rock. At 2mm thick the material is not only very attractive but also extremely resilient. Aquaflex also unveiled their unique range of tile bands. Busy from the start Aquaflex’s Neil Dalziel said: “There was hardly a moment when we did not have visitors on our stand. We are pleased with the way the show went and that it gave us the opportunity to present our new products and talk to so many customers.” Over the years, Golden Coast has developed a reputation for bringing something special to SPATEX and their 20th appearance certainly didn’t disappoint.

From the results of the annual State of the

Wet Leisure Industry survey to a showcase of 12 of the UK’s most innovative new products, the Golden Coast stand had something for everyone... even a celebrity! Andy James, the star of ‘Andy’s Answers’, a popular series of 40 short YouTube tutorials, was on hand throughout the show meeting visitors and signing autographs. With more than 40 years’ experience in the electro- mechanical trade, Golden Coast’s in-house

engineer’s relaxed presentation style and ability to explain issues clearly – with humour where appropriate – have made him an internet hit. Visitors to the Golden Coast stand were introduced to a selection of Golden Coast’s latest innovations for the pool, spa and sauna: from pool cleaners and chemical controllers to state-of-the-art saunas and bespoke lighting solutions.

Jamie Adams, Managing Director of Golden Coast said: “We enjoyed one of our busiest shows ever and were flat out over the first two days talking to customers old and new about our latest products and innovations. Having the opportunity to attend an industry showcase is a key part of our marketing strategy so I want to see SPATEX consolidate its position as ‘THE’ show and develop it to be as attractive as possible to all the potential exhibitors and visitors in the wet leisure industry.”

Simon Jay of EMEC who, in conjunction with Certikin, chose SPATEX 2013 to launch a unique competition with the prize of a free, brand new Volkswagon Up car said: “The company has been attending SPATEX for 15 years and this has to be the best SPATEX for us ever! Undoubtedly the car promotion attracted people to our stand but we were delighted with the number of visitors that came through the doors. The result was, we got great quality leads, with the prospect of very promising business ahead, and took a significant number of orders on the stand. You can’t ask for more than that! The car competition (automatic entry is through the purchase of a chemical dosing system) closes on 28 June so, if you missed out on going to SPATEX, there’s still time to enter.” Certikin, who are celebrating their 50th
