he Barn at Coworth Park offers relaxed dining just a short stroll from the Mansion House, Dorchester Collection’s


country house hotel, only five minutes from Guards Polo Club. Situated in an original barn frame with an outdoor terrace overlooking Coworth Park’s polo fields, this restaurant’s rustic features such as large wooden tables and stone fireplace provide the comfort of informal surroundings paired with homely, nostalgic traditional food. The Barn has a full wall of glass doors overlooking its own outdoor terrace for al fresco dining. The Barn opens in the week for lunch


from 12noon until 2.45pm. It serves breakfast at the weekend from 8am – 10am before reopening again for lunch from midday. Snacks and small dishes are available in the afternoon before The Barn swings into operation again from 6pm until 9.30pm (10pm on Fridays, weekends and Bank Holidays). Its menu features market-led, seasonal and locally sourced produce in favourite British dishes such as Spatchcock Baby Chicken, Crushed Pumpkin, Warm Shallot and Hazelnut Vinaigrette, Coworth Park Beer-Battered Fish, Chips and Crushed Peas, plus traditional puddings such as Brown Sugar Tart, Blackberry Jam, and

located for Guards Polo Club. In fact, as this pub/restaurant opens at 8am for beverages, toast, cakes and pastries during the week and at 9am at the weekends for a full breakfast menu, it can be tempting for the Club’s staff to start their day there before a busy day of polo! The breakfast menu features such dishes as the Fox and Hounds Royal Breakfast, featuring all the usual ingredients of a full English, alongside alternatives such as Poached Eggs and Parma Ham on Toasted Muffin. The daily menu contains some traditional pub favourites such as Fish and Chips and Ham, Egg and Chips, but alongside some more unusual offerings, such as Seabass with a Samphire, Razor Clam and Cockle Broth. In addition, this menu is complemented by an impressive a la carte menu, offering such dishes as Loin of Venison, Roast Loin of Cod with Pancetta and Braised Baby Gem Lettuce or a delicious Rib of Beef with Triple Cooked Chips, although this is supposed to be for two so you may have to share!
