Sporting AND GRILL

52 FULHAM ROAD, LONDON SW3

P

J’s Bar and Grill is probably the most famous polo restaurant in the UK. Owned by Brian Stein’s Maxwell’s Group, this

elegant yet relaxed London restaurant is a haven for polo players and fans alike. The venue for Brian’s popular polo party at the beginning of every sporting season, PJ’s offers a varied, but delicious menu throughout the day and evening. The restaurant flings open its doors at

midday during the week, inviting diners to sample its impressive menus until midnight. Creations such as Poached Skate Wing with Jerusalem Artichoke and Chive Mash and Clam Chowder and Steak Tartare vie with more traditional, yet equally delicious dishes such as 10oz Rib Eye Steak with fries and a choice of sauce or a PJ’s Rare Breed Beef Hamburger. In fact, PJ’s menu has something for everyone – young and old – and the atmosphere within the restaurant is so inviting that guests invariably linger long after their meal is complete. Whatever combination of dishes

you choose, the emphasis at PJ’s is always on quality and seasonality. The head chef and his team spend much time on sourcing the right ingredients and the results are always impressive. As are the desserts. With dishes such as the Valrhona Chocolate Fondant with Pistachio Ice Cream or maybe Sweet Rice Pudding with Autumn Fruits, it is always a good idea here to try and leave a little room for pudding. Players and polo fans that happen to find themselves in Chelsea at the weekend can also start their day with PJ’s famous brunch – which can be anytime from 10am-6pm! This could be something as traditional as a heaped plate of English Breakfast. However PJ’s extensive brunch menu also features delicious, yet unusual brunch dishes such as Roast Pumpkin Risotto with Black Truffle and Shaved Parmesan or Moules Provencal with French Fries.
