ock Green-Armytage, Chairman of Guards Polo Club, hosted the annual Chairman’s Dinner on the penultimate day of the season. Players, patrons and members were joined by several stewards and the staff from the Polo Office to celebrate a busy and successful season. There was plenty to celebrate as the Club had played more than 500 games and some 23 tournaments – an impressive tally, especially as 2012 has been the wettest year since records began! The Chairman’s Dinner always proves popular and this year was no exception. After an excellent dinner, created by the Pink team, the chairs were pushed back to make room for dancing. However just before everyone took their partners to the floor, the Chairman presented several end-of-season awards, including the Most Successful Team trophy to Jonathan Munro Ford (below) for his impressive Black Eagles team and the Most Improved Player award to Hilali Noordeen. Tara Smith, who joined the Polo Office at the beginning of the polo year, received the Chairman’s own Cup.
