life, both to the past and the future, growing from our experiences in order to transcend them.
When I asked for her help, a vulture came. He landed on my shoulder with a thud and I felt his talons digging through my clothes. The long scrawny pink neck looked out at the road ahead of me; it looked bleak and drab, mile after mile of nothing but dust and dirt, mountains in the distance that I knew I would have to climb at some point in my future. I could feel him urging me on, telling me to get going, get on with the journey and
reach those mountains, but I just didn't have the energy to continue. He turned awkwardly on my shoulder facing backwards, his feathers brushed my cheek as he settled and I felt his talons bite harder as he leaned down my back. A raspy whisper came from him: “Your journey would be easier without carrying this ”.
I suddenly felt the weight of a backpack pulling on my shoulders and pressing between my shoulder blades, containing all the emotional baggage that I had acquired and carried from my past. 'NOooooo, I thought I had already dealt with that and dumped it long ago!'
“It would appear not” the vulture replied..“Want some help?” 'Oh yes, please!' I felt him open the backpack and reach down into it, as his beak aligned with the back of my heart chakra. I closed my eyes and released many painful deep sighs as he cleared out the old rubbish from my heart once and for all. Slowly I began to feel lighter, and so did the vulture. When I opened my eyes, the vulture had gone and Nephthys stood beside me. She linked her arm through mine as we walked and she showed me many repeating patterns running through my past an d other incarnations; it seemed some of the baggage I had carried was not even from this lifetime. So she too urged me to ‘be aware’ of what I do, my attitudes and perceptions so that I don ’t load myself

down with more weight to carry through the rest of this lifetime. I asked her if I was already carrying the stuff of future lives? “Of course ” she replied. I felt my heart sink. How could we ever clear our way forward? “You are all of your incarnations in every world, time and dimension. They all exist within you and you cannot separate them. However if you are aware of them without any fear or dread, then they are not heavy to carry. It is only fear that weighs down the soul.”
I saw that we had reached the mountains and Nephthys final words were: “Now you are ready,” said with a wide smile and a glint of light in her deep dark eyes. Happily I have never been afraid of the dark, not even night time shadows as a child, so I have learned to welcome with discernment, creatures that to some may look unappealing even ugly; the griffins and gargoyles, dragons and dryads, and some of the Elemental energies that exist through the dimensional curtains that are becoming thinner and thinner. They have great strength, bring chaos and change, clear the way for us to rebuild. Who else will sort out the rubble of collapse; take away the old before we can create the new world we are all striving for? Be aware of the light and the dark, but I hope no-one will ever again be afraid of the dark, for what is one without the other?
