you will begin to identify which areas really make your energies sing and which do not. The more you do this, the more your psychic senses will develop naturally, comfortably, and your energies will begin to feel restored and balanced. Connecting to the rhythm of the Earth grounds your energies and this association, developed over time, is very healing. You may also begin to get inspirations, visions or messages, so keep a notepad handy and write down your findings for future reference. But here’s an important point: the energies are changing, the frequencies, the rhythms, are quickening. We are changing, the earth is changing and if we do not reconnect in this pure and simple way, as a spirit incarnate in a physical body, we will suffer. Already illnesses are rife where doctors are struggling to heal the sickness and legacies of the twentieth century and the stresses and problems mankind has inherited since the Industrial Revolution. The new much heralded post- 2012 era is dawning now and the land can help us heal and move on to the higher frequencies we will be part of. This new wave of consciousness coming in needs to embrace the fact that our world is a living planet and all things have a form of consciousness, not just mankind.
In Dorset we are blessed in that its climate and location in southern England has kept its farming lands relatively intact. While its surface may have been ploughed and turned over for thousands of years, town development has been minimal compared to many other counties and this has helped preserve a certain continuity of spiritual and energetic strength within the land. Also, it has ensured that many ancient sites are still to be found, fairly unspoilt in their relationship with the landscape and so we have a huge choice of natural areas to go to and experience the streams of energy and spiritual kingdoms that hold this land together. So if you live in the South West, or are just on holiday, remember you are visiting a special area, with a special but subtle message for anyone willing to listen, along with an ability to restore and heal.
With the changing frequencies of this post- 2012 era we need to be alert to the quickening, ascending changes of consciousness which have been predicted. This is the New Age that we have all been working towards. We will think differently, we
will adopt new belief systems, politics, healthcare and ways of living. Of course this rebirth will be difficult to progress through, painful for some, quick for others, but because of the materialistic nature of humankind, not easy. By connecting to the land, especially an unspoilt one, we become better ‘wired’ and we become sensibly grounded, which will not only improve our spiritual practice but also re-focus and balance our everyday lives, not least our mental and physical health. There is an old saying that the more you are grounded, the more you can climb spiritually, safely. From now on this phrase will not just apply to meditation practice but be particularly relevant to everyday life which will be lived on a higher frequency, at a higher level of consciousness. So make this year ahead as we go into 2013 (the so-called time of ascension) a time to reconnect to the very planet you were born on and on which you will have lived many times. If we are not just to ascend but transcend the old frequencies we need to complete the circle: Return to the old ways of connecting to the fabric and spiritual identity of the land before we can even contemplate starting a new cycle: a whole new level of the spiral of being, opportunity and rebirth.
There is a philosophy called Phenomenology which, when applied to physical land studies such as archaeology, is about really getting in touch with the feel and culture of a landscape - to experience it as our ancestors would have done, by trying to see it through their eyes. By applying this way of thinking to a spiritual or psychic appreciation of the land will help us realign with the use of our senses as they did, stretching our ability to look, see, feel, smell, touch and then intuitively know our environment, indeed our roots. Reconnecting with the land may be only one of many ways to prepare ourselves for our post 2012 existence, but nonetheless, it is an important one.
