MOON MOTHER Even though I hadn’t intended to take on any new projects for a while, I found myself signed up to do the Moon Mother training. Once again my ‘inner knowing’ had taken over and led me where I needed to be –it is funny and wonderful how that happens! The Moon Mother training has broadened my perspective on aging and given me a useful set of tools for the RED TENT gatherings and for rituals celebrating, for example, a girl’s first period, or a woman getting married or moving into motherhood. Menopause too can be marked with a blessing and ritual, honouring the transition into a new stage of life, wisdom and empowerment.

Whereas the format of the RED TENT gatherings will be changeable from one place to the next and according to what participants would like, one constant for the Exeter one is having a beautiful meditation taught by Miranda Gray at her Moon Mother training. Called the Womb-Tree meditation, I find it a wonderful way to re-charge myself as I feel my connection with the Earth, my feminine essence, heart and the moon. It may also help bring healing in subtle or overt sexual trauma.

Exeter RED TENT meets monthly and all women and menstruating-age girls are welcome. Details can be found at www.extermindandbody.com

Since time immemorial humans have been coming up with ideas about what happens when they die.
