Luncheon Celebrates the Company and Leadership of Women


n Friday, May 11, the YWCA of White Plains and Central Westchester hosts its annual networking luncheon from 11 a.m.


to 2 p.m. at the Hilton Rye Town. The event fea- tures keynote speaker Sonia Manzano, an award- winning writer and activist, known worldwide for playing the role of “Maria” in Sesame Street. The YWCA’s In the Company of Women lun-

CEO Maria Imperial says that Manzano embodies the spirit of the event, having made a lasting difference in the lives of others. “This event will bring hundreds of people together to gain insights from Sonia, network with each other, and, just as importantly, be inspired to make a difference here in Westchester County.” In the Company of Women will also recognize three area residents who

have demonstrated leadership on behalf of the YWCA’s mission to eliminate rac- ism and empower women. The 2012 awardees are Suzanne Clary, President of the Jay Heritage Center; Lee Lasberg, President of Lasberg Construction Associ- ates, Inc.; and Dr. Pauline Mosley, Associate Professor of Information Technology at Pace University.
