Accoya wood, using Accsys Technologies’ proprietary acetylation technology has been used in the construc- tion of the Bracknell flagship Waitrose store. The store, which opened late last year, is Waitrose’s ‘greenest’ shop to date. Accoya was chosen for the timber cladding as the project wishes to achieve ‘Outstanding’ level recog- nition by BREEAM. As a high performance and FSC certified timber cladding product, Accoya will help contribute to an improved BREEAM rating and help
to soften the design aesthetically. The tenant also required a 50 year warranty for the timber cladding; and Accoya, through its industry leading Class 1 durability, proved the only timber capable. Vertical random width Accoya boards were clad to the façade of the store.
103 EASILIFT LOADING SYSTEMS TO SPEARHEAD GROWTH
Easilift Loading Systems has moved to a new head office, from which the company will spearhead growth to capitalise on a hugely successful 2011. “We achieved a turnover of £20 million last year, with the biggest names in retail turning to Easilift Loading Systems for state-of-the-art loading bay solutions, like our £6 million installation for Tesco’s Grocery Distribution Centre,” explains managing director Rob Fay. “Our new Head Office reflects our desire to build
