210 ALL-YEAR FUSS-FREE OUTDOOR FURNITURE

DMMP Limited, which imports ‘forgettable’ recycled Poly-Wood garden furniture, was thrilled that this year a seaside family favourite took the decision to use its products in a new venue. Attracted by the idea that Poly-Wood furniture can be used, enjoyed and not worried about as it is maintenance-free, Butlins loved the range when it was suggested for a large decking area at the holiday resort’s 400-cover Sun & Moon Public House at their Skegness site. The furniture for the 100-

cover outdoor decking area had to rise to the challenge of being used frequently and being subjected to British summers, sea air and cold winters. Interior designer, Sarah Palmer, said:“The search for furniture took us to Poly-Wood as their range was ideal for high traffic areas...was also strong and resilient plus it had aesthetic appeal.”

211 DENSO ULTRASEAL FOR LIGHTHOUSE PROTECTION

Winn & Coales’ Denso Ultraseal Tape followed by Denso Acrylic Topcoat is now offering protection from an Atlantic Ocean environment plus attack by seagulls on the North Rona lighthouse, 40 miles north of the Butt of Lewis. The Denso materials were applied to roofs of the engine room and accommodation block in a recent refurbishment of the North Rona lighthouse by NG Bailey. Winn & Coales suggested to NG Bailey that the Ultraseal Tape would be a more suitable alter-

native to provide both the protection required in the North Atlantic environment and also be less visible to the seagulls. The Denso Acrylic Topcoat provided a matt finish to blend in with the colour of the roof to make it less attractive to the Seagulls. t 0208 670 7511 www.denso.net

213 TRIEF TRIUMPHS AT TYNE TUNNELS TOLLS

A three year project to build an extra road tunnel under the River Tyne has benefited from the use of Brett Landscaping Trief Containment Kerbs, ensur- ing driver and staff safety at toll booths. The Trief system works thanks to the innovative design of the kerbs, which trap the tyres of impacting vehicles to ensure they don’t leave the carriageway. The kerbs themselves also serve as a visual guide for drivers. At Tyne Tunnels, the Brett Landscaping Trief GST2A

kerb system was specified due to its ease of installation and the wide range of com- ponents available. The client was impressed by the speed of installation that this enabled as well as the fact that no cutting was required on site. t 01227 829000 www.brett.co.uk/landscaping

215 STAY CONNECTED WITH FLEXSEAL ON FACEBOOK

Flexseal have recently launched their official Facebook page. Proud of a pipe connection? Squeezed a coupling into a tight place? Worked on a prestigious project or perhaps just a standard domestic soil pipe connection? Flexseal are interested to hear about it, and to see their products in action. The good ones will go on their website, and the best will be printed in the trade press. You probably already know that Facebook is a powerful tool that people use every day. Almost every mobile phone has a camera, so it’s simple to photograph your project and post it to the Flexseal Facebook page. You may have a few minutes to spare during a project, so show people an installation you’re proud of and see your name in print next to an ace project photo. You can also share any hints and tips, provide feedback and ideas on Flexseal products, contact them with a product query or just say ‘hello’. Ed Fairfield, marketing manager at Flexseal comments: “We’re eager to keep in touch with the people using our products at the sharp end. These are the people who have the experience we can learn from and who use our products on a daily basis – so keep in touch!” All they ask is that the photo is in focus, shows the Flexseal product label so others can see which product you’ve used, and includes a few background details about the project. More to follow in forthcoming issues of Drain Trader, and on the Flexseal Facebook page. t 01226 340222 www.facebook.com/Flexseal
