Green cladding in a range of colours Steadmans has now extended its Dobel Nova steel coating option across its full range of insulated panels, cladding profiles and accessories. Dobel Nova is an acrylic 100 per cent recyclable product containing no PVC or iso- cyanurates, and is available in an attractive selection of shades, which are extremely colourfast. A cost-effective ‘green’ alternative to mainstream finishes, the modern coating is guaranteed for up to 30 years and has a tough and durable 50-micron coating, In addition, it provides outstanding scratch and UV resistance, weathering prop- erties, and repels dirt more effectively than popular alter- native finishes, as it contains no plasticisers. Dobel Nova coatings are available at no extra cost across Steadmans
entire cladding range and the company is offering free delivery on each cus- tomer’s first order over 299 linear metres.

Bison Manufacturing gets creative at new academy Bison Manufacturing’s Hollowcore floors and stairs have been selected for use on the £38 million devel- opment of the Manchester Creative and Media Academy in Blackley, Manchester. The contract sees a number of Bison Manufacturing precast concrete products used for the building. Working closely with the steel contractors Elland Structural Steel Ltd, Bison‘s input began with technical support at the design stage of the development. Having been impressed by Bison on a plethora of previous proj- ects, Elland Structural Steel required just under 12,000m2
of 150 and 200mm deep Hollowcore
flooring units and six no. precast concrete staircases. Bison’s Hollowcore units include cast-in lifting hooks, a feature preferred by Elland Structural Steel for improved health and safety and more efficient installation on-site.
