Joining forces to meet Euro Energy Legislation head-on Elta Fans has announced a strategic alliance with Ziehl-Abegg to use the Künzelsau based company’s motors and impellers as part of a commitment from Elta to meet the new energy and climate change legislation being introduced throughout Europe. Recognising the fundamen- tal changes it will mean for fan manufacturers, Elta Fans have already been working towards
meeting the requirements. The first tier of the ErP fan efficiency legislation becomes mandatory on 1st
January 2013 with more onerous requirements to
follow in January 2015, but the majority of the products within the new ranges were introduced by Elta in January 2012 will comply. David Ball, vice chairman of Elta Group Ltd, comments: “This new legislation has provided focus for Elta as a business and we will be striving to ensure that our products meet the require- ments well in advance of the new legislation being enforced.”

Green roof and conservation style roof windows Roof window manufacturer Fakro GB will be exhibiting at Ecobuild on stand N1530. Their products have been used in the restoration of Hornington Manor, a 250 year old, Grade II listed farmhouse near York. The creation of an eco-farm is the vision of Simon Spink, managing director of bed maker Spink and Edgar. Fakro supplied electronically and manually operated windows for installation in green roof upstands together with conserva-
tion style windows for clay pantile roofs on converted outbuildings. All products had to meet high standards of sustainability and Fakro products met the criteria set for U-value, timber quality and sourcing, BBA certification and design.
