Tendercare fly the flag for British horticulture Tendercare has been ‘flying the flag’ for the British hor- ticulture industry for decades as an award winning spec- imen plant nursery. 2011 saw the ‘surprise’ of an avenue of living semi-mature trees at Westminster Abbey. In 2010 and 2011 over 1,500 hydrangeas macrophyllas were grown for the famous Wimbledon Tennis Tournament. For 2012 and the Olympic Games, Tendercare’s plants will be seen by millions in the planted courtside displays and public areas. Their plants are always on show at Chelsea, in celebrity designers’ gardens and in the grand pavilion. They excel in specialist contract grow projects;
the Imax Cinema and the Brit Oval living walls are horticultural London icons enhanced by Tendercare’s plants and specialist planting services.

Exhibitors being urged to stand up for charity Ecobuild exhibitors are being asked to ‘stand up for charity’ and donate reusable building materials from their stands to a worthy cause. Dura Composites has already pledged to donate all the wood composite decking from its 9m x 4m stand and is inviting charities local to its Clacton offices to propose suitable uses. Stuart Burns, CEO of Dura Composites said: “A vast amount of building materials used in exhibition stands is never used again yet could be invaluable to charities. We’re going to recycle ours, made from recy- cled material anyway, to help local causes. We hope others will stand up for charity too.”
