The science to deliver the right paint for the job
Crown Trade has produced a new video highlighting the science behind its premium products and how their formulations offer specifiers the necessary qualities to deliver the right paint for the job. Utilising the latest in technology, Crown Trade’s systems are designed to offer optimum performance and support the exact needs of individual environments with a scientific approach ensuring a fit-for-purpose application. Systems featured in the video include Crown Trade Clean Extreme, which measures up to extensive and rigorous cleaning regimes. With the choice of Scrubbable Matt or Durable Acrylic Eggshell Finish, Clean Extreme’s performance and durability attributes ensure the range is compatible with NHS cleaning regimes and also offers the opportunity to extend mainte- nance cycles. For hygiene sensitive areas including food preparation and health- care environments, Crown Trade Steracryl Antibacterial paint utilises the natural power of silver to limit the growth of problem bacteria including MRSA, Salmonella and
E.Coli. The system is specially formulated with a scrubbable finish to enhance hygiene performance in these areas. In environments where mould can form, Crown Trade Steracryl Mould Inhibiting paints – available in Matt and Durable Acrylic Eggshell formulations – limit the growth of mould spores, especially in areas subject to heavy condensation such as bathrooms or kitchens. Finally, the film shows Crown Trade Timonox flame retardant paints put to the test in a lab
environment. The footage shows how the system can help buy precious time for evacuation and save lives.

British tile manufacturer showcases eco credentials
British Ceramic Tile will be exhibiting at Ecobuild (Stand no S316) for the first time in 2012. Showcasing both their latest product ranges and their eco creden- tials, British Ceramic Tile are looking to increase awareness of the tile industry in Great Britain, which can offer less transport costs than sourcing from abroad, as well as highlighting how versatile ceramic tiles can be. Currently 80 per cent of the UK tile market is imported, which British Ceramic Tile are aiming to challenge with the introduction of new designs and tile sizes. British Ceramic Tile is com- mitted to sustainability and reducing its impact on the environment. It sources 85 per cent of its raw materials locally to the manufacturing facility in Devon and recycles everything where possible back into the production process. Products on display at Ecobuild will include the recently launched Dorchester 30x60 and Brighton ranges, new floor tiles and a selection of ranges from the Laura Ashley and Studio Conran collections as well as several other existing and popular ranges.
