Pillar Talk
Frontier’s efforts to get Asset Management thinking LEAN has got off to a great start with 3 awareness sessions having taken place in Edinburgh, Cumbernauld and Inverness and another planned in Aberdeen towards the end of February.
Those who attended these events were introduced to the fundamental concepts around LEAN thinking in an introduction by LEAN expert Ali Mafi. Peter Faulks, from the Frontier team, gave an overview of LEAN in context of Value Management and Quality Management within Scottish Water.
The delegates then took part in a variety of workshops which aimed to demonstrate elements of LEAN, Value and Quality Management. The Quality Management team demonstrated how LEAN techniques are used
within the quality management system. The Programme Compliance team introduced people to the Whole Life Costing model and a Group Behaviour session looked at how to avoid ‘Groupthink’ which can inhibit effective decision-making.
Overall the events were a success and we received some very positive feedback.
A post-training Handout is available via the Frontier Academy Wavelength page that provides links to all materials and presentations that took place on the day.
