Pillar Talk

The Drive Manuals Project is now well into the implementation phase. The project is revising the format and content of future Non-Infrastructure Works Operating Manuals to make the process and the documents themselves lean and more efficient.

Current manuals are cumbersome, time consuming to populate and complex to use. The new manuals process will create a manual that is fit for purpose, value for money and easier to use, store and update.

We have developed a revised format for the templates, split by process and chemical and a new process to store, manage and maintain the manuals. If you are involved in the manuals process at any stage you will need to know more!

Over the next few weeks the project team will begin the first phase of training on smaller assets such as small water and sewage pumping stations and UIDs. Attending these sessions will allow anyone working on small assets to begin using these templates immediately and therefore start making savings!

Templates for larger assets such as treatment works will be delivered at a later date as these will require more in depth formalised training. The first series of events will be carried out as follows:

29th February BMR, Conference Room D 2nd March 9th March

HD, Assynt Room

12th March FMH, Awe Room 13th March 14th March

CH, Roxburgh Room BH, Dargie Room

BMR, Conference Room D

The training events will be informal drop sessions and we will be at the locations all day so if you are involved in the manuals process please come and join us and learn how you can start seeing the benefits from this process NOW.
